John McCann - Performance Psychologist, Executive Coach, Real Estate Coach, Leadership Consultant, Founder of Helper Agent ® and a Director of High Ideals. John has 35 years experience in management and sales during which time he carried out the role of Assistant General Manager of NZI Corporation employing 2,500 staff. He has extensive experience in team building, leadership development, executive coaching and counselling. He spent 15 years in the Real Estate industry where he was a highly successful agent, both Commercial and Residential and spent a number of years as a "Million Dollar Club" member with Raine and Horne.

John established a consultancy in 1989 now known as OrgPsych. The company specialises in improving organisational effectiveness through individual, management, leadership and client relationship development. The OrgPsych team operate as consultants, coaches, counsellors and confidants. Clients include leading Australian and international companies in various industries including actuarial, aged care, consulting, engineering, financial (banking and insurance), high technology, hospitality, manufacturing, motor vehicle, pharmaceutical and real estate.

 

As an Executive Coach having studied under the late Dr Suzanne Skiffington - internationally recognised as the world's leading educators of executive coaches - John has spent over 2,500 hours coaching executives and continues to foster self development so that competence and fulfillment improve, suffering lessens and love, joy and freedom expand for everyone involved in the process.

He has generated a Client Relationship Development programme for the real estate industry based on psychological processes. This programme has been delivered to well over 1000 agents since 2002. The programme has been sponsored by leading real estate industry organisations, the REIQ, REIV, REISA and REIWA. This is a generic product which can be tailored to meet the needs of any industry. It focuses on building relationships based on the values of respect, trust, empathy, unconditional positive regard and genuineness. The programme covers among other things, influencing with integrity, the psychology of handling objections, the psychological communication process and psychological health, the key to self-mastery.

John has a special interest in leadership development. He conducted a major research study on the effects of Charismatic Transformational Leadership behaviour on employee’s Organisational Commitment. He presented a paper on the study at the 5th Australian Industrial & Organisational Psychology Conference in 2003. He is the lead author on this paper which was published in a peer reviewed international psychological journal – 'Group & Organisation Management' in April 2006.

Since 2002 he has successfully conducted a number of organisational diagnosis' using the leading edge, 'Voice' employee climate survey. The diagnosis measures 32 management practices (organisational performance indicators) such as supervision, leadership, teamwork, communication and cooperation, wellness, job and customer satisfaction. Results have included the introduction of salary packaging and significant personal, group and management development.

In the 1980’s John founded companies in the mining and computer industries - one of which achieved IBM’s most prestigious award of 'IBM Gold Logo Dealer' – Best of the Best. He has worked extensively throughout North America. He has conducted training in client relationship development, personal performance, marketing and sales.

John is a Director of High Ideals, a member-based association, with the entrance criteria being based on how our members conduct themselves in their professional life. In his position as Director, Individual Membership, John is responsible for attracting members and inspiring them to operate with high levels of integrity, positivity and to have a greater positive impact on the individuals, families, colleagues and environments they effect through their business activities.
